I found a bunch of people referencing a rewire install but that page is 404'd and has been for a few weeks at least. I also did the 'repair' options in Sibelius and forced Pro Tools to rescan plugins, but nothing works and I'm out of options, was hoping for your insight. I'm on PT 11.3.1 and Sibelius 7.5.1.

Overview

If you can’t find your plug-ins or they seemingly disappeared in Pro Tools, you’re in the right place! In this article, we will show you how to find your plug-ins so you can get back to recording. As long as you installed the AAX, RTAS, or TDM version of your plug-in, you be back up and running in no time. We broke this article down into the three steps below:

1.Find your plug-ins in Pro Tools

2.Check the plug-ins folder

3.Other Common Solutions

Find Your Plug-ins in Pro Tools

The first thing we need to do is to organize your plug-ins by manufacturer in Pro Tools. You can adjust this setting through the Preferences window. After doing that, create a mono and a stereo track and check to see if that fixed the issue. Follow the instructions below:

How to Find Your Plug-ins in Pro Tools

1. Launch Pro Tools and go to the Preferences window.

  • Windows: Setup > Preferences…
  • Mac: Pro Tools > Preferences…
Tools

2. Set Organize Plug-In Menus By section to Category and Manufacturer and then press OK.

3. Create a mono and stereo audio track.

4. Click Insert A-E to view the plug-in menu.

I still don’t see my plug-ins!

If you’re still don’t see your plug-ins, let’s try trashing Pro Tools preferences. This will force Pro Tools to rescan all the plug-ins in that folder. If that didn’t do the trick, read through the next section to check the Pro Tools Plug-ins folder.

View the plug-ins on a stereo and audio track after resetting the plug-in menu.

Check the Plug-ins Folder

In this section, we are going to check your plug-ins folder and make sure the plug-ins are where they need to be. Follow the instructions below for Windows or Mac:

Pro Tools Rescan Plugins Mac

First, repair permissions. That sorts many things out.

If not, try deleting your cache ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.audiounits.cache. The next time you launch Logic, it will rescan all the plugins.

If the plug in comes with an uninstaller, use that to uninstall the plug in and then reinstall it.

If that does not work, search for the offending files, and delete them. Make sure you get all of them. The AU, VST, VST3, AAX, and whatever other file format you have for that specific plug in.

Then reinstall them.

I've been having a lot of problems upgrading my plug ins and Logic not recognizing the plug in and the only way o get logic to recognize it was to reinstall after deleting all of the old files.
